It is important that you know what do you want to study : grammar rules, conjugation rules, to increase your word-stock. What are you looking for ? Do you know what you want ? maybe not. In this page I introduce you exercises books. I would suggest you these books to begin your learning journey, if it does not suitable for you to study with a professor or a friend who can be your own professor. You can use them on your own and ask to your friend if something is not clear. It is nice to get a feed back without paying for lessons. Exercises books are a good way for you to study some specifics elements of the French language.
Let us see these exercise books. The first exercise book is Orthographe Progressive du Français. I like the fact that they are very well organized, very well oragnized, with this one you are going to learn a lot of words. It begins with the vowel A, E, I, O, U, Y. And then, after learning all these words, you will go through l’orthographe grammaticale. You are going to study several tenses in the French language and you are going to know how to write them in the right way, how to build those tenses,... You are going as well to learn numbers, how do you say them ? You are going to learn the words that never change, we call them the exceptions. You are going to learn the nationalities, it is very important when you introduce yourself. You are going to learn as well when to pronounce the letter and when to not pronounce a letter : the mute letters. Also how to pronounce a specific letter,... The course is very well done, very clear, and there is a place on the page where you can write what you want. I suggest you strongly to study with this book. As you are a grownup you do not need to be pushed by a person to study the French language. Do you want to study the French language ? It is really nice for the grownups by reason of yo can do it at your own pace. It comes with a CD that contains discussions, so you can developp your listening skills your comprehension skills. This book was not created for that but despite this you can do it. It provides all the answers, you are going to improve your spelling.
The second book to exercise is Communication Progressive du Français. The first thing you are going to see is how to run some errands ? How to buy some things ? The second thing is what question to say to get some informations ? How to have nice conversations, nice talks with people everyday ? How to say what I think about a specific subject ? So, you will see important thing that you can use everyday. There are several modules with several lessons for the modules. It is a very nice book for the persons with an intermediate level. You will discover different situations. If you want to study the intermediate part it requires to know a little bit of the French language. It is suitable for people from the A2 level to the B1 level. You will study as well with discussions to get more words,...
The third book as well is for the persons with an intermediate level. French grammar can be very hard as you go through your learning journey. So, first step is to be comfortable in using French grammar at an intermediate level. The book is Grammaire Progressive du Français. It is amazing to be better at speaking French step by step. In order to do that you need to study grammar with a structure. Here is a part of what you will study in this book : le verbe être (the verb to be), l’adjectif (the adjective), le verbe avoir (the verb to have), les nombres (the numbers), les temps (tenses), le verbe aller (the verb to go), la négation (negation),... If you want to get strong foundations in the French language, it is a very nice way. It will not be so easy, you will need to work a lot. It is a good book to get a better French grammar.
The fourth book is Vocabulaire Progressif du Français. It is a hard one. You need to be already good at using the French language. By the way, it could be hard as well for the persons they have an advanced level. So, if you use this book you need to go slowly, there is a lot of words to learn. Sometimes you will learn some words that you will not need to use in your daily life. So, this book is suitable for the people who speaks already the French language, they can use it to get a much more better French, to speak the French language like the natives. If you are not like over motivated I suggest you to not using it, and if you want to use it, I suggest you to study slowly.
