FRENCH grammar – 'EN' préposition de lieu
1 - Je suis en France depuis un mois.
I have been in France for a month.
2 – Ma soeur et moi habitons en ville.
My sister and I live in the city.
3 - Le restaurant est en face de la gare.
The restaurant is opposite the station.
4 – On est en haut de la colline.
We are at the top of the hill.
5 - Le livre est en bas, dans la cuisine.
The book is downstairs in the kitchen.
6 - Elle a acheté une maison près de la plage, en bord de mer.
She bought a house near the beach, by the sea.
7 – Ils ont acheté un appartement en centre-ville.
They bought a flat in the city centre.
8 - Ils jouent en bas, dans le jardin.
They play downstairs in the garden.
9 – Nous allons en bord de mer cet été.
We are going to the seaside this summer.
10 - Le musée est en haut de l’avenue.
The museum is at the top of the avenue.
11 - J'ai oublié les livres en classe.
I forgot the books in class.
12 - Les photos sont suspendues en haut du mur.
The photos are hung on the top of the wall.
FRENCH grammar – 'EN' préposition de temps
1 - En fin de journée, le travail sera terminé.
At the end of the day, the work will be finished.
2 – On partira en vacances en juillet.
We will go on holiday in July.
3 - En ce moment, je suis en train de faire la cuisine.
At the moment I am cooking.
4 - En hiver, il fait souvent froid, surtout au milieu de l’hiver.
In winter it is often cold, especially in the middle of winter.
5 – Apprendre le français en 6 mois.
Learn French in 6 months.
6 - En 2022, j'aurai 24 ans.
In 2022, I will be 24 years old.
7 - Il y a plus de touristes en été.
There are more tourists in summer.
8 - Elle rencontrera ses amis en fin de journée.
She will meet her friends at the end of the day.
9 - J'aime prendre un café, en début de journée.
I like to have a coffee at the beginning of the day.
10 - En automne, les feuilles tombent des arbres.
In autumn, the leaves fall from the trees.
11 - Nous avons vécu ici en 2010.
We lived here in 2010.
12 - En ce jour de fête nationale, il y a des concerts.
On this bank holidays, there are concerts.
13 - En début d'année, j'ai pris de bonnes résolutions.
At the beginning of the year, I made some good resolutions.
14 - J'aurai fait ce que j’ai à faire en 30 minutes.
I will have done what I have to do in 30 minutes.

FRENCH grammar – 'EN' préposition de moyen
1 - Je vais à l'aéroport en taxi.
I go to the airport by taxi.
2 - Nous apprenons à jouer du piano en prenant des cours.
We learn to play the piano by taking lessons.
3 - On a voyagé en train.
We travelled by train.
4 - Il l’a envoyé par email, en pièce jointe.
He sent it by email, as an attachment.
5 - Je vais écrire une lettre en utilisant un stylo.
I am going to write a letter using a pen.
6 – Quand on était petit on a appris à nager, en suivant des cours à la piscine.
When we were little we learned to swim, taking lessons at the pool.
7 - Nous avons décoré le sapin en utilisant des guirlandes de Noël.
We decorated the tree with Christmas lights.
8 - Il a coupé du bois en utilisant une grande scie.
He cut wood using a large saw.
9 - Nous avons construit une cabane en utilisant le bois que nous avons trouvé dans la forêt.
We built a hut using the wood we found in the forest.

FRENCH grammar – 'EN'= pronom
1 - J'ai acheté cinq pommes, j'en ai mangé une juste après avoir fait les courses.
I bought five apples, I ate one just after shopping.
2 - Tu as besoin de sucre ? Oui, j'en ai besoin pour mon café.
Do you need sugar? Yes, I need it for my coffee.
3 - Elles ont apporté des bouteilles d'eau, trois, mais nous n'en avons bu qu'une seule.
They brought bottles of water, three, but we only drank one.
4 - J'ai beaucoup de travail à faire, je vais faire une pause maintenant, j'en ferai une partie demain.
I have a lot of work to do, I'm going to take a break now, I'll do some of it tomorrow.
5 - Je n'ai pas aimé ce film, je suis parti et je n'en ai pas vu la fin.
I didn't like this film, I left and didn't see the end.
6 - Elle a acheté un livre hier, aujourd’hui elle en a acheté un autre.
She bought a book yesterday, today she bought another one.
7 - Nous avons acheté de la confiture, mais nous en avons laissé un peu pour le petit-déjeuner demain.
We bought some jam, but left some for breakfast tomorrow.
8 - J'ai demandé des informations, mais je n'en ai pas reçu assez pour prendre une décision.
I asked for information, but did not receive enough to make a decision.
9 - Du gâteau, mais il en reste encore un peu si tu veux en prendre.
Cake, but there's still some left if you want to have some.
