In this article i share with you when using the time of the indicative.
The time of the indicative
- Present tense
- Perfect tense (Passé composé)
- Perfect tense (Imparfait)
- Futur
In this article I share with you when to use The time of the indicative. You can use them with the all verbs.
Present tense
- What I'm doing, I say right now.
Je mange une pomme. → I am eating an apple.
- What is happening now. The present context.
La course se déroule sous les yeux des spectateurs. → The race takes place in front of the spectators.
- What is usual, a general truth.
La terre tourne autour du soleil. → Earth spins around the Sun.
Perfect tense (Passé composé)
- One-off action that has taken place in the past and is completed.
Hier, j’ai été au restaurant. → Yesterday I went to the restaurant.
Perfect tense (Imparfait)
- A past action or a past state that lasted.
A past habit that is no longer current. Quand j’étais enfant, j’allais à la ferme tous les dimanches. → When I was a child, I went to the farm every Sunday.
- A description of something that has been seen, read, heard; of someone we met.
De ma cabane je voyais le soleil se coucher. → From my cabin I saw the sun go down.
Futur
- A situation, a project to come.
J’irai à Paris pour les vacances.→ I will go to Paris for the holidays.

Perfect tense (Passé composé)
- One-off action that has taken place in the past and is completed.

Perfect tense (Imparfait)
- Past action or past state that has lasted. A past habit that is no longer current.

We went to the beach every year when we were child.
2 - Je (faire)………………………………………………………………..………un gâteau pour l’anniversaire de ma sœur.
I made a cake for my sister's birthday.

They jumped into the pool.
- A description of something that has been seen, read, heard; of someone we met.

Futur
- A situation, a project to come.
